TAMPA, FL  --  Penguin Computing announced beginning shipments of its Linux-based suite of tools that create a unified portal for open source management of life science research applications.

The benefit of the suite is that it creates a pre-integrated point and click environment that allows researchers to utilize the processing power of multiple machines on their network, without having to be cluster experts.

Some of the most commonly used life science open source applications pre-integrated with the suite are BLAST, HMMER, EMBOSS, mpiBLAST, MrBayes, Glimmer, ClustalW and T-Coffee.
